Richard Naisbitt    Optometrist/Director:  Richard studied optometry at Bradford University gaining a first class Honours degree in 1997. He completed his pre-registration training at Querido & Partners, and C4 Sightcare, winning the Association of Contact Lens Manufacturers prize for best examination results in the professional qualifying examinations 1998.  After qualification, Richard continued to work in hospital and independant practice. He established RJ Naisbitt Optometry, South Hetton in 2000.

In 2011 Richard took over JW Grundy`s long established practice in Coxhoe, Durham and now works between the South Hetton and Coxhoe practices.  Richard  has a passion for ethical eyecare and personal service.

Richard is registered with the General Optical Council. He is a member of the College of Optometrists and Assocation of Optometrists.

Sharon Naisbitt    Director/ Dispensing assistant: Sharon has worked within optometry for the past 25 years. As well as extensive knowledge of spectacle dispensing, Sharon has significant experience of contact lens insertion and removal training, including teaching young children to insert and care for their contact lenses.

Janet Howarth   Dispensing assistant: Janet joined our practice in January 2015. Having previously worked at DJ Morris Optometrist (Sunderland), she brings a wealth of experience and friendly approach.

Joan Naisbitt    Dispensing assistant: Joan has 45 years experience of working within the optics industry. She began working for KC Haikings before starting up M R & J Optical Company (manufacturing opticians in South Hetton, Durham).
